Vancouver

Surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, Vancouver is ideal for a short stay as you can easily experience both Canada’s wonderful countryside and city life. It is one of the country’s warmest cities too, with miles of beaches that are perfect in summer and just as scenic (though a lot cooler) in winter. There are numerous shops, museums and parks dotted around with walking rather than using transport encouraged.

Toronto

Canada’s largest city is often referred to as the cultural and entertainment capital of the country. There’s the iconic CN Tower which is visited by over two million people each year, art galleries such as the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art and even the Steam Whistle Brewery to discover how Toronto’s famous pilsner is created.

Lake Louise

Located in Banff national park deep in the Canadian Rockies, Lake Louise is a fantastic lake with a nearby ski resort. Stay at the Fairmont Hotel for the perfect view. Lake Louise is best experienced in the winter months for the full effect. Check out winter clothing first though, as you’ll need to be wrapped up warm.

Churchill, Manitoba

Churchill is a small town that borders Hudson Bay. It is perfect for getting away from the city and seeing wildlife as the polar bear capital of the world. Polar bears can be sighted all year round while beluga whales are commonly spotted from late June to August. The lack of pollution and northern location make it superb for checking out the Aurora Borealis too.

Jasper National Park

Elk, mountain goats and even grizzly bears can be spotted in Jasper National Park. The largest park in the Canadian Rockies, it features the Columbia Icefields, various lakes and is great for hiking, camping, spotting wildlife and staying in one of its many cabins.

Quebec City

Unique from most of Canada with its French connection, Quebec City is great for history aficionados. The old Chateaux Frontenac overlooks the St. Lawrence River while the City Fortress makes Quebec City one of the last walled cities in the world. Nowhere else will you find such a different cultural experience in North America.
